Learning/Training Needs Analysis

A Learning Needs Analysis (LNA) is used to assess an organisation’s learning needs. This is an assessment of the gap between the knowledge, skills and attitudes that the people in the organisation currently possess and the knowledge, skills and attitudes that they require to meet the organisation’s objectives. Many companies who are building a learning organisation implemented this assessment as part for continuing professional development.

Needs Analysis?

You see a lot of warnings signs:

  • Failed projects
  • Poor decisions
  • Lost customers
  • Stagnant work force
  • Excessive meetings on the same subject, etc

How do we conduct a Learning Needs Analysis?

We work with you to:

  • Decide on the data needed
  • Prepare and execute a project Plan
  • Analyse and turn data into usable information
  • Identify and recommend best solutions for your organisation

Where have we conducted Learning Needs Analysis?

  • Government
  • Retail
  • Manufacturing
  • There are immense benefits from conducting a structured LNA to discover where your business or organisation can benefit most from the application of learning/training. Often, an organisation or business sends people on regular courses/workshops because they believe they are of value. Courses/training is a large investment and large investments require justification. One of the best ways of justifying the need to spend learning/development dollars is to carry out a learning needs analysis.

If you do not have the organisation development resources to identify your learning needs we can help you. There are many models of LNA. We will identify which principles, model and tools may be used for our organisation to conduct skill gab analysis as effective as possible. We collate the gained information (data ?) into a learning/development plan and recommend cost-effective, targeted learning solutions for your organisation. Our recommendation will help with Employee Performance Appraisal and Employee Development Plan processes.

Advantages your organisation can get from conducting LNA

    • Can gather strategically important information in the area of learning/development
    • Can boost employee morale
    • Identify high impotency organisational priorities and aligning development needs
    • Efficient and cost saving learning/development plan
