Coping with Stress in Difficult Times

Course Type : Course/Seminar
Course Length : half-day
Course dates : August/September

Course Description
In these uncertain times, many of us may feel stressed and tense. While some stress is a normal part of life, there are times when something unexpected happens and things get on top of us. The recent Canterbury earthquakes not only left a trail of property destruction in its wake, it also left people with a damaged sense of balance. Even those that have not experienced the earthquakes directly are experiencing a wide range of emotions relating to it. Recent international health studies found that 75% of general populations regularly experience a very high level of stress. This level of stress may significantly increase after stressful events and take a toll on our health and career.

Now it’s time to take action and help yourself and your loved ones to cope during this crisis. Many people around us need attention and help in coping with stress-our colleagues, friends, family member and especially children who do not have years of life experience to guide them. Polson Higgs wants to help your and your surroundings by providing a” Stress Management” programme. This programme is designed to give people an understanding of what stress is and equips them with tools to successfully handle stress and restore their emotional balance. This programme provides very effective tools that can lift mood, increase energy, and make people feel like they are back in the driver’s seat. This interactive programme contains workbook and CD-ROM.

  • What stress is
  • Signs and symptoms of stress
  • Self-assessment of stress triggers

Accompanying this general seminar we also recommend that managers and business owners attend a separate session which focuses more on their ability to manage stress with their staff in some cases look at their own management styles to decide whether their actions are appropriate.
