Scam email alert

Yet another scam email, claiming to be from the Inland Revenue, is currently doing the rounds.

The email claims to be from the Inland Revenue’s "Tax Refunds Department" and informs the recipient that they have a tax refund owing. In order to claim their refund, the recipient is asked to click on a link, and enter in their personal details.

Please note that the Inland Revenue does not process its refunds in this manner, nor is there a "Tax Refunds Department".

If you have received such an email, please forward to phishing@ird.govt.nz immediately so that the scam can be shut down as soon as possible.
