Sustainable Business Practices
Since 2007, Polson Higgs has been surveying South Island business leaders to get their views on the issues and challenges they face. In our most recent survey we have seen that as cautious optimism has returned to many businesses, environmental issues are assuming greater significance. Yet many business leaders do not believe that they have a good grasp of how to manage these issues or develop effective strategies to capitalise on emerging opportunities.
To help stimulate new thinking in this area, we invited Steve Henry to run a Sustainable Practice seminar in Dunedin and Christchurch on 13 and 14 April respectively.
Steve, who manages the Centre for Sustainable Practice at Otago Polytechnic, has designed and led projects to implement aspects of sustainable practice into many companies including AJ Hackett, Skyline, Blanket Bay, Dart River Safaris and Comvita. The seminars shared local and international success stories and were directed at business owners or managers who are interested in the benefits of aligning economic activity to better environmental outcomes to maximise revenue.
