Good afternoon

Following this mornings earthquake I thought it would be useful to update you on a couple of issues.

Firstly, and most importantly, the thoughts of the Partners and Dunedin staff are with you as you begin to deal with the damage and ramifications of this morning's earthquake. Our first thoughts are for the safety of you and your families. There may also be damage to your property which could well be traumatic and we wish to offer the firms support at this time.

At this stage the CBD is closed and we are not able to access the office to check for any problems. We are hopeful that Phillip and Mike can gain access to the office on Sunday morning to update the situation.

Tim, Justin and Shane have been working on our systems to ensure they are protected and operating as best as possible. The key problems at present are likely to be around water and sewage.

There is potential that we will not be able to open on Monday morning. If this happens we will be extending leave on pay until the office is open again. Where possible we will look to work remotely for staff who have key client issues. We will better assess this issue tomorrow (Sunday) and advise all staff then.

For those of you who have sustained damage to you personal property, we will offer some flexible work options over the next few weeks to enable you to manage contact with insurance companies etc. This will be coordinated with your manager.

This will also be a dramatic time for a large number of clients and I have been talking with the firm leaders as how we will connect with them to help them through a range of issues such as loss of profit issues etc.

For our staff in Christchurch please remember that Emily Templeton, our occupational health nurse is available if you should need support at this time.
