Ross heads the Human Resources team in our Business Consulting Group and is an experienced industrial relations and HR management consultant, having over 20 years' experience in recruitment, performance management, remuneration, stress management and executive coaching. Prior to joining Polson Higgs in 2003, Ross was an experienced manager and HR industrial relations practitioner in the health, primary production and central government sectors. He initially worked as a grain and stock agent in the rural sector, then spent 10 years with the Department of Labour as a senior employment manager. After two years as an area manager with a state-owned enterprise in the meat industry he was appointed HR Manager, responsible for recruitment and retention, and collective agreement negotiations at the Otago District Health Board, an organisation of over 3000 staff. He is a member of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand. Outside of work Ross is a keen sportsman, has played NPC rugby for South Canterbury and also achieved higher recognition trialling for the New Zealand Colts team (1983).
