Qualifications and Experience

Lachie is one of a small number of advisers in New Zealand who hold both the Certified Financial Planner^cm (CFP^cm) and Chartered Life Underwriter designations. In addition Lachie is an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA).

Lachie is a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers and holds a Diploma in Business Studies (Financial Planning) – Massey University and a certificate in Advance Business Risk Management.

Lachie has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry including a number of years with AMP as Company Superannuation and Employee Benefits Consultant. In the late 90’s he was Acting NZ Manager for AMP Employee Benefits and was instrumental in restructuring the business at the time of AMP’s demutualisation. In addition he has held technical roles in retail investments and insurance working closely with in-house staff as well as field work with advisers.

In 2005 Lachie set up his own financial services business in Christchurch and it was this business that initially operated a joint venture with Polson Higgs until 2011 when Lachie sold out of the business to take on a full time role as CEO/Director and Senior Adviser of Polson Higgs Insurance Services.

Professional Memberships

Lachie is a member of the IFA (Institute of Financial Advisers) and is bound by their code of best practice to carry out his role as a trusted adviser to the highest professional and ethical standards.
