Contribution to Social Causes in India

Polson Higgs has recently opened an office in India in conjunction with AKT BPO. This has provided us with an opportunity to support some of the needs of the community in India. There are some poor but academically good students attending Bishop Appasamy College of Arts and Science.  With our assistance, 11 students are sitting and passing graduate programs sponsored by us. With our support a student at St Xavier’s College of Science is completing her second year and hopes to qualify as a nurse. Study centers for village children with illiterate parents have been set up near Coimbatore where personal care and private coaching is provided to help with studies.  Since 2008 AKT BPO has supported two of these centers.

Ashraya is a project of the Green Valley Charitable Trust in Coimbatore.  It caters for the needs of children with mental disabilities and assists them to become independent.  AKT BPO also provides support for the families of these children since 2008. The Mahima Charitable society runs a school in Mumbai for children in weaker sections of society.  Nine students have their fees paid for by AKT. For the past two years we have sponsored twin sisters attending Nirmala College in Coimbatore.  The girls are both in degree programs.
