Community Services Award
Words for the horse: “Horse” was part of the ensemble of characters that was created by ceramist Jim Cooper for his famous show of over 800 ceramic characters depicting famous musicians of the 1970s. The ensemble started out at the Dunedin Art Gallery and toured several centre’s of the North Island and was eventually sold to a wealthy collector. Luckily Horse stayed in the South. We request nominations for this award on an annual basis. The recipient’s community organisation receives a $250 donation from the firm. In addition the staff member receives a silver pendant engraved with the logo of the organisation (as well as a second pendant to adorn “Horse”) along with $250 of grocery vouchers for themselves. |

Contribution to Social Causes in India Polson Higgs has recently opened an office in India in conjunction with AKT BPO. This has provided us with an opportunity to support some of the needs of the community in India. There are some poor but academically good students attending Bishop Appasamy College of Arts and Science. With our assistance, 11 students are sitting and passing graduate programs sponsored by us. With our support a student at St Xavier’s College of Science is completing her second year and hopes to qualify as a nurse. |
