Young Enterprise Scheme (YES)

The Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) is focused on inspiring young people to discover their potential in business and in life. The scheme aims to motivate young entrepreneurs, foster creative thinking, and provide a gateway for their entrepreneurial journey. 

Young Enterprises challenges teams of Year 12 & 13 students to create a “product” and take it to market over the course of the year. 

As sponsors we are excited to provide:

• The Polson Higgs Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Training sessions. We provide training on XERO and budgeting / forecasting for the CFO’s of the teams.
• The Polson Higgs Pitch day. The teams each present a “pitch” to a dragon den of judges in the Anderson Room at our offices in Moray Place. 

Young Enterprise is focused on developing young people to be enterprising, innovative, and work-ready. The Otago Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) supports business start-up and management for Year 12 & 13 students whilst they are still at school.  Students present their idea at a pitch day with the winning group progressing to nationals. The scheme engages members of the local business community to provide an experience that is authentic and relevant to the world we live in.
